Barry Claughton

Barry, David's Uncle, is a Yorkshire artist who for many years has specialised in painting the Northern landscape.

The Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and Northumberland, with their dales, hills and coast, have provided most of his subjects and he is widely exhibited in these areas. He is equally happy working in watercolour, oil or pastel and enjoys portrait and animal painting as alternative subjects. However, it is in landscape painting that he is best known and paintings are now in collections worldwide.

Initial training in Art was in Chelsea, followed by a degree in Geology and Geography at London University to give an understanding of landscape in all its aspects. Years of teaching have been followed by a career as a full time artist. He was the last President of the Leeds Painting and Sketching Club.

His work is published by Claughton Images as prints, blank cards, and art cards. Originals are also available.
